Full Field of Study list

The field of study list available in dFac is curated from a nationally available list of possible instructional programs, also known as CIP (CIP stands for Classification of Instructional Programs). An Excel list of all current dFac fields of study can be downloaded here. If the list is missing a CIP code that you need, please let us know by submitting a support ticket.

All educations received in the United States are generally expected to be classified by one of the options listed within the full list, available via the National Center for Educational Statistics.

The CIP titles and program descriptions are intended to be general categories into which program completions data can be placed, not exact duplicates of a specific major or field of study titles used by individual institutions. The vast majority of CIP titles correspond to academic and occupational instructional programs offered for credit at the postsecondary level.
